A personal tool that turns YouTube videos into written notes.

Share a video from the YouTube app and this tool fetches its captions, has a language model write a structured summary in several languages, and commits the result to a personal blog repository. It exists so that a video worth watching leaves behind something readable and searchable afterwards.

Who can use it

Access is limited to a small allowlist of accounts chosen by the operator. Signing in with a Google account that is not on that list returns an error and creates nothing. This is a private tool, not a service open to the public.

How it works

• An Android app receives a shared YouTube link.
• The server fetches the video's publicly available captions and metadata.
• Anthropic's Claude writes a summary from the transcript, one per selected language.
• After review, the summaries are committed to a GitHub repository owned by the operator.

Sign-in

The application uses Google Sign-In to confirm that the person using it is on the allowlist. It requests only the basic profile scopes — your email address, name and profile picture. It does not request access to your Google Drive, Gmail, Calendar, Contacts, or YouTube account, and it cannot read or change anything in your Google account.
